Object Description:

U.S. RIFLE M14 7.62MM SN# 10937
Manufactured by Springfield Armory, Springfield, Ma. - Standard gas-operated, shoulder fire rifle. Locked by rotating lugs on the bolt head into the receiver. 4-groove rifling. Muzzle velocity 2800 fps. Weapon weighs approximately 8.7 lbs. Weapon is complete with sling, a 20-round detachable box magazine and is in excellent condition.

Markings:
Receiver: U.S. RIFLE/7.62-MM M14/SPRINGFIELD ARMORY/10937.

Weapon transfered to the Museum on 18 March 1965.
