ARGENTINEAN RIFLE MODEL 1891 MAUSER 7.65MM SN# G4476
Manufactured by Ludwig Loewe, Berlin, Germany in 1891 - Standard bolt-action M1891 Mauser. Straight bolt handle. 5-round single column box magazine. Cleaning rod in forearm. Barley corn front, adjustable rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. Military one piece straight grip stock. Weapon has an overall length of 48 1/2" and a barrel length of 29 1/4". Weapon weighs approximately 8.8 lbs. Weapon badly damaged in Spanish-American War. Barrel burst. Bolt missing. Upper part of stock blown away. Cartridge: 7.65mm x 53, rimless.

Receiver: MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891/MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN on left side. G 4476 on right side.
Barrel: G 4476.
Magazine: G 4476
Stock: Crown/RA in oval behind lower swivel.

1909 Catalog #0694 - "Rifle. Mauser Rifle. Clip loading. On receiver, Mauser Modelo Argentino 1891. Manufactura Loewe, Berlin. Captured during the Spanish-American War. Bolt and bayonet missing. Barrel burst."

Notes: Spain purchased 10,000 Argentine-pattern M1891 rifles in 1892.
